pcs coding percutaneous exchange of transvenous right atrial and ventricular leads of a pacemaker, which was initially placed three years ago, battery remains intact. No EP studies performed at this time.
The artificial pacemaker is a device inserted in to the an individual whose conduction pathway is damaged because of AV conduction block, heart failure, tachyarrhythmia and other conditions. This electronic device helps to maintain rhythm and rate of the heart. Pacemaker contains pulse generator, elctrolodes. The pulse generator implanted permanently into subcutaneous tissue of skin usually on nondominant side. Percutaneous puncture method: The leads of pacing leads is inserted via transvenously to right atrium and right ventricle
Preprocedure: Some important investigation, skin preparation, and consent are obtained. . Pacemaker procedure is carried out in a cardiac catheterization laboratory the patient sent to cardiac catheterization laboratory for procedure. After anesthezing, the patient undergoes procedure. After implanting pacemaker, the patient is observed in intensive care unit. After necessary instruction, patient is discharged to home.
Permanent pacemaker was inserted to a patient three years ago. After 3 years, the patient undergoes procedure for exchange of leads in cardiac catheterization laboratory. The battery is kept intact; replacement of right atrium and right ventricle leads has been preceded. The coding was assigned for this procedure according to the PCS. The pcs coding 02H63JZ, 02HK3JZ. This PCS coding is assigned for billing, health insurance purpose and other purpose
