you are assisting a cardiologist in administering a treadmill stress test to a patient when the physician is suddenly called out of the room. it becomes apparent that the position will not return for several minutes. what should you do? why?
A cardiac stress test can be defined as a test determined to identify hearts ability to respond to external stimulus .
Hence in case of no physician the nurse must stop the exercise immediately ,as cardiovascular changes may occur which may be difficult to detect and may cause further complications, hence the nurse must continue in presence of the physician only.
As there may be complication like fainting chest pain etc.
