List the Marketing Objectives for a newly design Samsung model Android based mobile phone using the SMART criteria.
Create a mission and vision statement
SMART criteria are Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant
and Time bound. This criterion is used for long term goals. The
mobile phone should be specified through providing sufficient
details about the product. The objectives of the phone must be
defining a specific outcome. The goals should be expected by the
customers. If there are generalities it may leads to confusion and
lead to poor results. One of the most important objective of
Samsung Company is increasing their sales in the
market.
The measurable results maintain the track of the progress towards
the goal and define the expected outcome. The objective cannot be
defined when it is immeasurable. If the phone sale increased to 50
units, the company tried to raise the sale to 300 units in six
months.
The goal set by each company should be achieved within the time
period. The setting of this type of goals will avoid the failures
in the sales. Like Samsung set it goals to sell 100 mobiles in a
week. This will encourage the company to expand the business
through different strategies. The confidence and trust of consumers
towards this company will increase the sales and attainment of the
sales goals.
The goal which set by Samsung should be realistic in nature. If the
goals are unrealistic it will affect the company negatively during
a recession. The consumers assume that the current discretionary
income will helps them to attain every need of them. So the
business entrepreneurs also set their goals based on this. But an
efficient businessman will concern about the future also. So he/she
will set the goals with depends to the future and uncertain
condition of the market.
The sales goals set by Samsung cannot be achieved there is no time
line. If the company assume that the new mobile phone attains a
market in future, without any time specification. This will affect
the overall business. Even the sales units were not become
responsible to keep their sale in an increasing digit. So setting
time for the sale of the new phone is also an important factor
behind the attainment of market.
Use of this SMART criteria will increase the productivity,
collection of accounts which receivable and expands the skill of
the employees.
