1. Think back on a time you were angry or upset about something at the clinical site. How did you react?
2. Describe a time when understanding someone else's perspective helped you understand them better.
3. What motivates you when you have a job to do that you may not particularly enjoy doing?
Yes im an emotionally intelligent nurse.
1.There was a situation in a hospital where i worked for more than 6 Years, one patient who has a problem of Asthma and COPD was very difficult to handle as he was one of the most angry patients. He was not in a situation to accept any medication or taking tablets,or even if you touch him he will start hurting you physically.By his behaviour I became very upset and angry on myself as im not able to handle him and provide him the treatment he needs. At one point I totally lost my patience and shouted on his family member but later i regret it and spoke to the family and apologised.I tried to be cool and calm ,being gentle, trying not to argue ,trying to communicate with the patient as much as needed, and be realistic. Finally after trying for a week I observed a change in him and he tried to speak well with me.
2. To understand this step is very important,by gaining personal awareness or situation awareness .When doing this right people say things like you really get me.In the world of selfishness ,we typically tend to see our own side of the equation but when situation comes its better understand someone else perspective which helps us to become a better person.
3.Only one thing that motivates me to continue the job is my confidence and self spirit. In any situation i Just think only one thing is that 'Why cant i handle or solve this situation?' only this kind of spirit helps me to learn more and gain more knowledge even if i dont enjoy doing the job.
