Decide how you will prepare six glucose solutions ranging from 0 mg/mL glucose to 2 mg/mL glucose for this laboratory, supporting your decisions with clear calculations (You must show all calculations for credit). These solutions cannot be saved for future labs, so keep in mind how much volume is required for this analysis. You will have the following available in addition to your lab drawer: • solid glucose and the analytical balances • 1 mL, 2 mL, 3 mL, 5 mL, 10 mL, 15 mL, 25 mL, and 50 mL volumetric pipets • 5 mL, 10 mL, 25 mL, 50 mL, and 100 mL volumetric flasks

Solutions

Expert Solution

Take 40gm of glucose and mix with 20ml of solvent to make a solution of 2mg/mL.

Take out 10ml of 1st glucose solution of 2mg/mL.

left 10 ml of 2mg/mL solution mix with another 10ml of solvent to make the whole solution 20 ml of 1mg/mL.

Take out 10ml of 2nd glucose solution of 1mg/mL.

left 10 ml of 1mg/mL solution mix with another 10ml of solvent to make the whole solution 20 ml of 0.5mg/mL.

Take out 10ml of 3rd glucose solution of 0.5mg/mL.

left 10 ml of 0.5mg/mL solution mix with another 10ml of solvent to make the whole solution 20 ml of 0.25mg/mL.

Take out 10ml of 4th glucose solution of 0.25mg/mL.

left 10 ml of 0.25mg/mL solution mix with another 10ml of solvent to make the whole solution 20 ml of 0.125mg/mL.

Take out 10ml of 5th glucose solution of 0.125mg/mL.

left 10 ml of 0.125mg/mL solution mix with another 10ml of solvent to make the whole solution 20 ml of 0.0625mg/mL.

the sixth glucose solution is 20ml of 0.0625mg/ml.

Tax efficiency is a measure- ranging from 0 to 100- of how much tax due to capital gains stock or mutual fund owners pay on their investments each year; the higher the tax efficiency, the lower is the tax.  Financial planners examined the relationship between investments in mutual fund portfolios and their associated tax efficiencies.  The following table shows percentage of investments in energy securities (x) and tax efficiency (y) for 10 mutual fund portfolios: x 3.1 3.2 3.7 4.0 4.0 5.5...
