1. If we go through the history of Roman civilization, we will find out many similarities between Ancient Rome and our country. The working culture of their government was much similar to that of our government. They had different laws to control as well as protect their citizens. They spent a lot of money on infrastructure, defence and other cultural events which is quite common even today. But the one most similar thing between the two giants is the structure of their government. In fact both the government has Executive and Legislative Branches comprising a republic government with the most powerful and law making positions offered to the respected senators.
2. Romans were wonderful architects and planners. They built roads, arches, sewage system, stadiums, calenders and many other things that we even use today. Though it is very hard to select any one invention or creation by the Roman civilization, but if I have to select one thing I would say Coloseum. It was built between 70 A.D. and 72 A.D. at a time when it was impossible to imagine such a huge structure on Earth. It was a spectacular oval amphitheatre with a capacity of more than 80,000 people making it the biggest stadium ever created at that time. The iconic gladiatorial contests held there attracting thousands of people. Even after so many natural disastars, wars and human intrusion, it stands right there attracting thousands of tourist every year.
3. Though there are hundred of things that we can learn from Roman civilization, but the one lesson that I would personally like to take away from the Roman Civilization is there will and determination to create new things that could help their people with their daily life works. In every field, they were masters of their time. They came up with a number of remarkable infrastructures, crucial inventions and a fine type of governance at a time when it was impossible to even imagine just because of their strong will and determination.
