How does exercise prevent colorectal cancer :- 1) Creating a more efficient gastrointestinal system by increasing blood flow and circulation. 2)Reducing insulin levels ,which are responsible for tumour cell division and growth . 3)playing a role in energy balance and hormone metabolism. 4) reducing the time that the colon is exposed to carcinogens. 5) Altering inflammatory and immune factors that influence colon cancer risk . The recommended amount of exercise to protect against cancer is estimated to be between 30 to 60 minutes of moderate physical activity such as walking ,jogging , yogga water aerobics ,jumping rope and others .The type ,duration and level of intensity vary from person to person so people should discuss with their doctor before beginning a new excerise regimen. Research shows that colon cancer survivors can reduce the risk of their cancer recurring by as much as 50% by exercise. Exercise prevent some risk factors of colon cancer by preventing obesity and controlling body weight ,reducing the risk of diabetes, hypertension and promoting psychological well being .
