Case studies both the exposure and outcome has occured, so we can know the details of the disease like exposure of risk factor, duration leading to the diseased, the symptoms and it's chronological order. It is a retrospective study. It is basically a comparison study

In case of hematological disease the disease onset and outcome is very fast, so case studies are the best as we can develop a screening test which can find out the disease early and halt or reduce the progression of the disease.

In microbial disease also the incubation period is very important, and knowing the symptoms at this period is very important it will help us to identify the case and isolate them early and protect them from spreading to others.
