among people, their families, their caregivers, colleagues and the
place where they live, their class, gender, culture, religion, age,
status, etc should also be treated with respect.
2. Advocacy: The mentally affected individual and their family
should be given support. The health care providers should be
concerned about them. They should follow the human rights.
3. Working as a team: The practitioners should have a positive
relationships with people, their families and others. They should
work together to reduce tension. They should collaborate and work
together and follow a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary
practice.
4. Excellence: The practitioners should provide quality service.
This is obtained by professional development programmes and
learning.

us to view the situations in different ways and change our
behaviour accordingly.
