Q#5
Design an experiment to answer the following question:
Does aspirin keep cut roses fresher longer?
1. What is your hypothesis?
2. What is your experimental group?
3. What is your control group?
4. Discuss how you will perform the experiment. What is your
independent variable? What is
your dependent variable?
1. I think the asprin will keep cut roses fresh longer.
2.experimental group- one group which which contains 250 vases with water and crushed asprin tablets mixed in water and 2 roses put in each vases.
3. Control group contains 250 vases with simple water and 2 roses with each vases.
4.PROCEDURE -crush the asprin tablets, fill 250 vases with water, add the asprin tablets to the vases, then put 2 roses in each of those asprin containing water.
Just fill the 250 vases with simple water and put 2 roses in each vases.
With asprin:- Day 1-the asprin tablet put in the water and now ready for observation.on day 4 the stem and roses are still healthy.on day 7-a few roses petals gone from some of the others but the rose still has life in it. In the end it worked well with the asprin but some of the petals do drop after day 4.
Without asprin :- Day 1 the roses are put into the vases and ready for observation. On day 4 the most roses are already drooping.I don't think they will last any longer. On day 7 most of the half of petals I most of the roses have already fallen off and roses looks likely destroyed.
The 500 roses with asprin water lasted longer than the roses with simple water.
