Quantitative Research Scenario: Answer the questions according to the scenario.    The standard care for diabetic patients with stage 2 or 3 pressure ulcers includes the use of antibiotic creams and daily dressing changes. Healing times can be weeks to months. It has been theorized that low-pressure pulsatile lavage may decrease the healing time for diabetic patients with stage 2 and 3 pressure ulcers in addition to the standard treatment.

The research team is seeking to know the best design for testing this theory. Your discussion for this week responds to the researchers question of design. Support your design selection with at least 2 scholarly journal articles related to your design selection. You can use your textbook for additional support. Your initial post will:

a) Identify the problem under research. (Chapter 3)

b) State the purpose (Chapter 3)

c) Identify the hypothesis(es) or research question (Chapter 3)

d) Identify the intervention d) Identify the dependent (DV) and independent (IV).

e) Identify the conceptual framework related to the researcher’s theory. (Read pages 134-135 in chapter 5 The Special Language of Theory in your textbook.)

f) Identify the research design best suited for this study.

g) Discuss the design and why it would be the best.

A, pressure ulcer affects 3million adults in the united states..healing rates vary depending upon the condition, clinical interventions, and ulcer severity.. diabetes is a leading cause of non_traumatic lower extremity amputation, for non-healing ulcer..there was a negative response in the first week or 2 of this therapy may indicate that the therapy may not be successful..The clinical results suggest the NPWT negative pressure wound therapy with low pressure and a gauze dressing interface for upto 5 weeks..results suggest that a high rate of wound closure could be expected with low pressure and a gauze interface..

B, low-pressure pulsatile lavage has dramatically changed the treatment of complicated diabetic wounds..Randamized clinical trials have shown NPWT increasing the proportion of wounds that heal and the median time to heal compared to standard wound care..the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of low pressure and a gauze wound interface on the percentage wound area reduction and time convenient in diabetic wounds..

C, Research question is healing time process of diabetic ulcer dressing during low_pressure pulsatile lavage and Normal dressing changes..

D,pulsatile lavage therapy provides direct, localised hydrotherapy to pressure ulcer by using a pulsative pressurized stream of sterile normal saline..

Refer to the following scenario to answer questions #3 through #5. According to the most recent 2018 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the average age of first marriage for women is approximately 28 years old. You think that this number is much too low. You randomly sample 12 women and conduct a single sample t test to determine whether the known value of 28 for the population is significantly different from the mean score for the sample. Ages of...

The Collins Research Crew (CRC) is interested in examining the number of vape/smoking stores (i.e. stores that sell vaping and cigarette/cigar smoking products) in low-income neighborhoods compared to other types of neighborhoods. CRC's research question is, "Do low-income neighborhoods have more vape/smoke shops than other types of neighborhoods?" Low-income neighborhoods were defined as those where the median household income is less than the U.S. federal poverty line. Non-low-income neighborhoods are those that the...
