Ionic bods, covalent bonds and hydrogen bonds are the most common bonds. Ionic bond occurs due to transfer of electrons between two atoms with different electronegativities, and is the strongest of the three bonds.
Covalent bonds takes place via sharing of electrons. It can be polar if electrons are shared between atoms of slightly different electronegativity; and non-polar if electrons are shared between atoms of the same electronegativity. Also, covalent bonds can be single, double or triple, depending on the number of pairs of electrons shared.
Hydrogen bonds are created due to slightly positive and slightly negative ends of two molecules. It is the weakest bond amog the three.
