Describe the events that lead to hemostasis? What factors affect hemostasis

Hemostasis is the mechanism by which the control of bleeding when there is injury to veins , capalliaries and arteries .

Bleeding from veins is less dangerous because of low venous pressure while bleeding from arteries require surgical surgical procedure to stop bleeding.

events leads to hemostasis :- hemostasis events are primary and secondary . ( refer diagram 1)

• vasoconstriction
• Platelet activation to form platelet plug
• Coagulation cascade to help in formation of blood clot
• Antithrombotic control mechanism .

• Hemophilia
• Clotting disorder
• Von Willibrand Disease ​
• ​​​​​​liver disease prevent the formation of fibrinogen and prothrombin
• Patient which are on Anticoagulant therapy like heparine and warfarin for a ling time
• Aplastic anemia
• High alcohol intake
• Drug therapy like asprine which induced platelet dysfunction
