Feeling of wellbeing is the most important of overall health of an individual and the quality of well beign is the part of general health policy model .Quality of well being assessment scale is first and foremost tool which was introduced to assess the well being and quality of life in individuals .

" Quality of well being assessment scale is the one which include general health releated quality of life questionnaire which is used to assess the overall status and overall being of the individuals specially over the past 3 days ".

Originally the quality of wellbeing was called as health status index ,later it was renamed as index of well being and now it was again renamed as quality of well being assessment scale by RM Kaplan and JW Bush to stress its focus on quality of life

*) This scale consist of 71 questionnaire which is usually takes around 20 minutes to complete

* ) There are 2 different versions for the quality of well being assessment scale they are ;

a) The original version consist of questionnaire which is designed to administer by an interviewer .

b ) The second version is consist of questionnaire which is designed to administer by self .

The quality of well being assessment scale focused on 4 areas ;

* Physical activities

* Social activities

* Mobility

* Symptom or problem complexes

Assessing these 4 areas helps to find out the quality of wellbeing and score are given accordingly .

Scoring allows to place each individual in a continuum of wellness

The scale consist of score which range from 0 to 1.0

0 indicate death and 1.0 indicate optimal functioning .
