Mark has just started a new job as a personal carer in the community services sector. His job involves developing an understanding of the structure, functions and interpersonal relationships between the different community services available to clients. The systems both internally and externally are different and he is having trouble understanding this process. It is imperative that Mark follow the protocols to ensure processes are as required by his organisation.

What organisational tools should Mark use to identify lines of communication between organisations and other services. Give two examples?

Community service and health system are interrelated to each other in many aspects:

  • By Understanding the problems/ disease pattern existing in the community, services are planned so as to improve health system
  • Health system comprises of different level of services in the community such as primary health centre, comminity health centres and tertiary health centres. Their utilization is depends upon how the services are availed in the community so as to improve health system in the city or country.

b) Local community service system and how they are interrelated?

Local community service system are of different types and depends upon problems occuring an that community such as

  • Old age homes
  • Children foster centres
  • NGO's for diffrently abled people
  • Hospice centres
  • Autism centres
  • Home for physically and mentally challenged person

These community services are inter related to each other in many aspects. They can refer to each other for availing the services, their funds are collected for local authorities and service utilization have to report to common authority.

Six of the functions of these services:

  1. To search for vulnerable community people for utilizing the services
  2. To market and advertize the services so as to create awareness among community
  3. Create funding and monetary terms
  4. Meeting local agencies and health system authorities to plan for the future
  5. Conducting health camps and celebrating their achievements by different means
  6. Colloborate with local agencies and other NGO's to gain maximum inputs

  • It is always important to follow organization protocols to avoid any incidents or errors.
