Rocky Jackson, a friend of yours, just started a new job. He is attempting to fill out Form W-4 and has asked for your help. He would like to receive a large refund when he files his return and would, therefore, like to claim as few allowances as possible. Even though he is married and has four children, he is planning on claiming no allowances. What would you tell Rocky?

Expert Solution

The answer is given below.Thanks.

The employees would in general complete a Form W-4 in which they furnish
all the relevant information to the employer in order to help withhold the correct
tax amount from the wages or salary paid to them.
If R likes to receive a large refund then should be claim all of his personal allowances by
correctly filling out Form W-4.He should also state the additional amount that he withheld from each
paycheck on Form W-4 ,line 6
R should also consider about interest free lending money to the federal government.
It would be better for R that he correctly fills out theForm W-4 to ensure the appropriate
withholding amount -not much high and not much low.He can put the additional withheld
amount into an interest-bearing savings because the federal government does not pay interest
on refunds.
