our heart is a very important organ. It pumps the nutrients we need to all parts of the body. Cardiovascular disease is often preventable. Please research the causes and preventions of cardiovascular disease. which gender is more likely to get cardiovascular disease? male or female? why?
#. CVD risk factors that are out of our control
Heredity (genetics contribute to CVD risks), Aging (70% of heart attacks, 65 years or older), Sex, (CVD leading cause for both), Ethnicity (African Americans have a greater risk for CVD, and hispanic americans for high bloop pressure)
#. Modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease :-
Obesity
High cholesterol
Diabetes
Inactivity
Unhealthy eating habits
Hypertension
#. Prevention methods :-
Control your blood pressure.
Keep your cholesterol and triglyceride levels under control.
Stay at a healthy weight.
Eat a healthy diet.
Get regular exercise.
Limit alcohol.
Don't smoke.
Manage stress.
#. The gender which is more likely to get cardiovascular disease is male because overall men's coping with stressful events may be less adaptive physiologically , behaviourally and emotionally contributing to their increased risk for CVD.
For example :-
When a woman is stressed, her pulse rate rises, and her heart pumps more blood but when a man is stressed, the arteries of his heart constrict, raising his blood pressure.
