Communication is very important in the health care system. To provide good health care to the patient it is very important to work on communication skills.

Organization with good communication policies can help in providing good healthcare facilities,on the other hand which do not have any policies regarding communication it can negatively effect patient well being.

HOW COMMUNICATION IS BENEFICIAL:

Poor communication leads to the death of the number of patients.

So,good communication would benefit both patients and health care providers. Patient's safety is one of the reason for the development of communication skill in the organization.In many hospitals it was found that death of the patient was mainly due to poor communication in the organization.

BEST PRACTICES THAT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED:

• Plan for different personalities: people of different type of personality comes to the hospital so it is very important to deal with them accordingly with proper communication to make their all doubt clear and to make them comfortable. Never react harshly even if they are not responding and talking very well. Your kindness will be the main thing at that time.
• Be empathetic: it is always essential to show concern towards the patients. Always show that you care and understand the pain of your patient.
• Use Active listening skills: always listen to your patient properly. Never interrupt and show them improper gestures that you are not interested in their words. watch your body language.
• Take proper notes of every important information. Detailed notes of symptoms, medication,dietary needs is very important.
• Be direct,clear or open: everything should be clear and open. Nothing should be left for guesswork.
