Causes of malnutrition include inappropriate dietary choice, low income, difficulty obtaining food, various physical and mental health conditions.

Malnutrition in all its forms include undernutrition, inadequate vitamin or minerals, overweight and obesity.

Obesity is associated with vitamin -D deficiency. Being obese can cause a deficiency in vitamin -D, a nutrient that helps the body absorb calcium which essential for healthy bone.
