What role does interference RNA play in post-transcriptional and translation control of gene expression?

What role does interference RNA play in post-transcriptional and translation control of gene expression?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Interference RNA (RNAi) molecule inhibits gene expression or translation by inhibiting targeted mRNA molecules. RNAi is RNA dependent gene silencing process controlled by RISC (RNA induced silencing complex). The enzyme dicer yes dsRNA to form single stranded RNAi. These are then incorporated into RISC which targets mRNA to prevent translation.
