What role does ventilation play in determining maximal exercise capacity?
There are two types of major metabolism carried by human body.
1) Aerobic Respiration (Breakdown of glucose In presence of Oxygen)
2) Anaerobic Respiration (Breakdown of glucose In complete/partial absence of oxygen)
In case of 1 energy (ATP) outcome obtained after breakdown of one molecule of Glucose is 36ATP. In case of 2 obtained after breakdown of one molecule of Glucose ,ATP outcome is 2ATP but its instant.
Ventilation provided air to carry out Aerobic Respiration and get 36 ATP. So more the energy maximum is the exercise capacity, which cannot be provided by anaerobic respiration.
