Organizational structure suitable for a fast food restaurant company

For the successful running of a fast-food restaurant company, an efficient organizational structure is very much required. The structure of a fast-food restaurant company can include the following.

1.Corporate Owners

Corporate owners will be there at the top of an organizational structure of a fast-food restaurant company. They are in fact invest the capital for starting the restaurant and are selecting people to key management positions in the restaurant.

2.General Manager of the Restaurant

General Manager of the Restaurant is acting as a bridge between the corporate owners and the staff of the restaurant. He or She is the person responsible for all day to day transactions in the restaurant. He or She is taking all major decisions of the restaurant in consultation with the Corporate Owners. There shall have some assistant managers to help the General Manager of the Restaurant to discharge his or her duties.

3.Shift Supervisor

Shift supervisors are responsible to manage the service staff who directly deal with customers. Shift supervisors are working as a link between the General Manager and the general staff of the organization. They usually deal with customer complaints, disputes refunds, etc.

4.Front-line Associates

Front-line Associates are the face of a fast-food restaurant company. They welcome customers to the restaurant and takes customer orders and supplying them. Front-line Associates are in fact helping a fast-food restaurant company in attaining its reputation. They directly report to the Shift Supervisor.

5. Cooks and Food Prep Associates

Cooks and Food Prep Associates are responsible for preparing the required quantity of the food in taste and quality as per the requirement of the restaurant and its customers. They also directly communicate with the shift supervisors.

6.Cleanup Crew

Cleanup Crew is responsible for keeping the restaurant and kitchen neat and tidy.

Organizational structure suitable for a small expensive restaurant with a celebrity chef

If the restaurant is a small one with a celebrity chef then the Cooks and Food Prep Associates will come directly under him or her and he or she needs to communicate directly with the General Manager of the Restaurant. Normally restaurants will give the celebrity chef autonomy in the case of the dishes being served at the restaurant.
