1. Have you ever thought about trying to be self-sufficient, could you do this? What would be some of the most difficult things for you to consume without depending on others? What are some things that you consume that would be very difficult to purchase if not for international trade?

2. Suppose you are the smartest, strongest, and most able (handy) person in the world. Why might you choose not to change your own oil?

3. How would the exchange rate between the US and Canada impact your decision to purchase maple syrup or other commodity?

4. Would the US be better off provided they stopped importing goods and services from the rest of the world? Why or why not?

5. Summarize the view of Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton regarding trade. You do not need to evaluate the view only summarize their positions (provide any resource used). Do not use a resource that is editorializing for or against the candidate (just the facts please).

Expert Solution

1. In today's world it is hard to say that any nation is self sufficent because in today's world human needs are amplified "as resources are limited and its really hard for any nation no matter how economically sound it may be but it is dependent on other nations for its own economy and needs" Following are some of the important products which are pretty important such as Energy resources, Pharmaceutical, transfer of technology, food and dairy products and so on.

2. I will not change until and unless i will find a better, economical and profitable resource.

3. Exchange rate plays and important role in an economy, for example if price of US $ rises the commodities(maple syrup) which are exported from USA to Canada will get an increase in the price, as a result US products will be costlier in Canadian market or vice versa, as a result consumer will buy a subsitute product will are cheaper.

4. It is unwise for USA or any nation to stop importing for international market because no country in this planet is self sufficent also international trade is a two way thing which means if USA stopped importing other countries product other countries will stop importing USA's products which will give a negative impact on USA's economy.

5. Both leaders are right in their view points President Trump is taking conservative steps to help the economy but it might hurt in long run. On the other hand Hillary's view points are leberal economy which also not sutiable for USA's economy in short run. Its would be better if USA follow both of their views, because balanced view gives good result.
