a) It can lead to negative relations between groups as it is a form of discrimination against American Indian nations.

b)it represents sterotype images of American Indians.

c) It also undermines the ability of American Indians to portray accurate and respectful images of their cultures and beliefs.

What should be done to effectively address disputes that will arise when a decision is made to use or to discontinue use of a particular mascot?

There must be stringent laws which will allow the use or to discontinue use of a particular mascot. It must be noted that these laws must be applicable at all levels in the society especially at the college or school levels
