Review the Worldviews in Nursing Theories section of Chapter 3 in Called to Care: A Christian Worldview for Nursing. Select two of the definitions of "health" provided in the text. Within the context of the broader worldview, describe the two selected definitions of "health" of the (six) worldview concepts and nursing theories described in your textbook. How would you define health?
1.Description of health according to the definitions provides in the worldview concepts of health:-
Health is a state of complete physical ,mental ,social and spiritual well being and not merely the absence of disease.
A person is said to be healthy when he is structurally and functionally sound ,which is not constant in nature, keeps on changing.
Health is continuity of wellness which is achieved by meeting the needs of the individual . Health is the way of living in which the individual is integrated as a person and how he interacts with the environment . It is the individual's perspective of self care.
2.Nursing theories:-Nursing is a unique profession which deals with all the aspects of health - physical,mental,social and spiritual.
Nursing helps the individual to meet their needs and to become self dependent. Nurses provides support, knowledge, teaching ,guidance to the individual.
Nurses provide assistance to get adapted to the changes in the environment and how to deal with health problems in a culturally acceptable ways. Provide palliative ,hospice care in critically ill patients.
Nursing is a art and science which helps the individual to modify their behavior to achieve a optimal health by having a adaptive interaction with the surrounding environment.
Nursing not only focuses on the patients ,the family members are also involved in care and are also provided support and education regarding health.
3.Definition of health- Absence of disease is not health . A person is said to be healthy when he does not have any physical ,mental and,social ailments .
