Patient experience includes the interactions that patients have with the health care system and health care provoders such as doctors , nurses and other staffs in hospitals etc. Patients with better care experiences often have better health outcomes.
Ethical principles should follow for better patient experience. The commonly accepted principles of health care ethics are
1.principle of respect for autonomy
Every individual has their own freedom or right to choose anything according to their wish. It is a right of competent adult to take decision about their medical care.
2. Principle of nonmalefience
The care or treatment receiving by the patient should be free from any type of harm. Do not harm the patient and provide safe and beneficial treatment.
3.principle of beneficence
This principle reveals that the action carrying out should be beneficial to others. It doesnot produce any ill, it must be taken to help, prevent or remove harm.
4. Principle of justice
The principle of justice involves the application of fairness to individuals in population groups or communities. The treatment should be equal to all irrespective of caste, creed etc.
These principles help to improve better patient experience.
