GUIDING PRINCIPLE 1;ADVOCACY
NAHAC advocates have to be worked on behalf of client for optimal health outcomes.For each patient they assess the well-being and physical,emotional,social,spiritual,financial,and environmental needs of that client.
Duty of health science professional as an advocate for health promotion is to share the recommended plan of care based on clients living situation and health assessment with relevent providers for improving clients health and well-being
principle 2 transparency and honest disclosure
Advocates has an obligation to be transparent about fees ,training ,education,experience,and credentials
advocates have aspecial responsibility to assure that clients are fully aware of all possible conflicts of interest involved by the advocates's conditions of employment
NAHAC advocates providing fee -for-service assistance are obligated to present a client or responsible family memberwith an agreement that clearly defines the advocates's scope of practice ,fee schedule,and working arrangements
PRINCIPLE 3 PROTECTING CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
HEALTH SCIENCE PROFESSIONALS have a responsibility to protect the confidentiality of all medical records and communications with the client
PRINCIPLE4 FOSTERING AUTONOMY
Advocates need to uphold and respect all client's rights by promoting recognition of existing statutory rights,and supporting development of potential advancements of the rights of people and communities to receive fair treatment
Advocates strive to ensure that clients are fully aware of all care and treatment options ,including potential risks,benefits,and available alternatives
advocate will in all situations attempt to provide clients with all information that would facilitate informed decision -making
while a legally designated surrogate become the patient's decision -making agent ,an advocate is encouraged to faithfully convey to the surrogate the clients relevent medical history,as well as personal conversations in which the client may expressed certain wishes to the advocate.
PRINCIPLE 5
PROVISION OF COMPETENT SERVICE
ADVOCATES ARE COMMITED TO continue their education inorder to keep their knowledge and skill current
advocates need to ensure that they have adequate referral systems
PRINCIPLE 6 AVOIDENCE OF IMPROPRIETY AND MAINTENANCE OF PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Advocate may not accept paid advertising on their websites from outside product or sevice providers
advocates need to recognise and maintatin boundaries that estabilish appropriate limit to professinal relationship
