As all of you have indicated, the Bill of Rights was designed to protect the people from a powerful central government. A common expression implies that during times of fear, people are more willing to sacrifice liberties for security.
Can you think of any examples in which we, the people, are willing to give up our freedoms and liberties in exchange for feelings of security? What do you think of this concept?
The bill of rights is also called as the 10 amendments of the constitution. It protects the rights and liberties of the common people and thus preventing the government to be of the utmost power.
