1.During my childhood days ,like any other child i too had regular health check up and frequent visits to doctors clinic. To tell you the truth i feared nurses rather than doctors. But at 10 years i was admitted in the hospital with appendicitis and was scheduled for an emergency surgery. The nurses on duty were so nice ,i didnt felt as if i were in hospital ,they were friendly .After that i was not afraid of them.i still remember ,crying a lot when i was discharged. That incident had a deep impact on me and developed a passion for the profession. Now i am a nurse too.
2 Now being ina nursing school is not an easy job as everyone thinks.it takes time to make yourself adjusted to the new environment. As this is the first time i am away from my home staying with friends whom i never met before in my life. The topics are challenging and now i know that it needs a lot of hardwork and commitment to become a nurse.
3 I happened to see some of the nurses lose temper with patients.Sometimes patients may become cranky .So a professional nurse must be prepared to treat all patients with the utmost respect and dignity ,no matter what the provocation.Appearance is another important aspect as people will always judge you by your appearance because it can either instill confidence in the patient or total mistrust.Because a nurse who looks sloppy will always be seen as lazy, unorganised and worse of all uncaring.
