DMeasurement of an organizations growth is very important. Selecting the key performance indicators to measure the organization performance is the most important.

The pitfalls of over measurement are :

1. Selecting wring or too many key performance indicators

2. Sometimes data collection from across the organization may become difficult and lead to unnecessary and inconsistent data collection.

3. Interpretation of the data collected done by the management can sometime be misleading. Management may gauge the data on short term basis leading to misinterpretation of results. More scientific and logical analysis of data can help to omit such errors of misinterpretation.

4. Integrating the measurement of performance process into the decision-making process is essential. But this is sometimes overlooked.

5. Reviewing of the measurement process everytime is necessary to check the relevancy of the process.
