Solutions

Expert Solution

1. EEG- ( Electroencephalogram )

  • It is a test which is used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain..Brain cell communicate each other with electrical impulses.. EEG test helps to detect any potential problem in the brain cell.
  • EEG test is used to detect any kind of- brain tumor, brain damage , stroke, inflammation of the brain etc..

2. ERPS It can be reliably mesured using electroencephalography.....a procedure that measure the electrical activity of the brain over time using placing the electrodes in the scalp.....

3. FMRI ( Functional magnetic resonance imaging )

  • It measure the small change of blood flow that occur with brain activity...

It is used to examine the brain's functional anatomy, evaluate the effect of stroke or other brain disease etc...

4. PET ( Positron emission tomography )

  • This is a type of scan which is a type of imaging test..It uses a radioactive substance called a tracer to look for disease in the body..

it is used in the diagnosis of cancer

5. NIRS ( Near infrared spectroscopy )

It is used mainly in the pediatric critical care....specially for the patient who are in cardiac surgery....

NIRS Is able to measure the venous oxygen saturation....( SVO2 ) which is determined by the cardiac surgery....

A researcher wants to ensure the reliability of their EEG set. To do so, they measured impedance in 32 electrodes and found a variance of 62.2 microsiemens. Does this researcher have reason to believe at alpha = 0.05 that the impedance in their electrode set has a variance different than 50 microsiemens?
