An organization or company can be said to have a diverse culture when the company has a diverse employee base . A diverse employee base happens when the employees shares similarities and differences in terms of age group , physical abilities and disabilities, gender as well as sexual orientation.An organization with a diverse employee base is most suitable to fulfill the needs of the customers from diverse base.

  • Multicultural Workforce

On the other hand, an organization or company is said to have a multicultural work force when it is made up of individuals (men and women) from a various different cultural backgrounds and races . A multicultural workforce is the one in which there exist a huge range of difference in terms of cultural background between the employees of the organization.

A multicultural organisation is very essential for the effective working and management of diversity. As in multicultural organisation, the employees are of different cultural and racial backgrounds, this can contribute in achieving benefit to the organisation.

  • Strategies To Manage Workplace Diversity

There are various approaches that the organisations use to manage and regulate cultural diversity.

  1. Communication-. It is one of the most important factor which can helps in managing cultural diversity withing the organization. In a diverse workplace there are people of different ages, cultural and racial backgrounds and those with disabilities in order to understand them better, communication is the key.
  2. Training programs- Many organizations have started including diversity training as a crucial part of their usual training program. This helps the people develop a better rapport and improves the functioning of the organization.
  3. Mentoring-The main goal of mentoring is to support to the individuals coming from a diverse group and interact with them in the cultural values of the organisation and increase their chances for better adjustment.
