Language is an important adaptation that occurred during human evolution. Here, please discuss language origins, the physiological and cognitive requirements for it, when, how, why it evolved, and what evidence scientists use to argue these positions.
Language is an important adaptation that occurred during evolution. There are theories of the origin of languages mainly
1.The bow -bow theory
2.The pooh- pooh theory
3. The ding- dong theory
4. The yo- he -ho theory
5. The la-la theory
Physiological requirements include size of throat and larynx ; and their relation to the vocal tract which produces different pitch
Cognitive requirements such as decision making, problem solving, learning , speaking all these makes language processing.
The language was first evolved around 50,000-150,000 years ago nearly during modern homosapiens time
Animals may not form words but able to communicate. So in order to communicate with ourselves to hunt , farm and defend ourselves from harsh environment language has evolved. And it gave several advantages for man.
scientists examined the fossil record and skull edocasts which reveals anatomical evidence of brain structure of potential relevance to language.
Recently molecular biologists have also provided the evidence.
