Explain the difference between LHC and RHC polarisations.
The difference between Left hand circularly polarized and right hand circularly polarized are as follows,
| LHC - left hand circularly polarized | RHC - Right hand circularly polarized |
|
Its wave equation is given as,
|
Its wave equation is given as,
|
| Left- Hand-Circular (LHC) follows a counterclockwise pattern in its polarisation. | Right-Hand-Circular (RHC) follows a clockwise pattern in its polarisation. |
| The LHC polarization wave can be thought to arise from the circular motion depicted by inverting the oscillation in the y-direction. | If so for the LHC polarization then the RHC wave can be thought to arise from the circular motion depicted by inverting the oscillation in the z-direction |
| At this time angular momentum vector points in the +y-directionits direction of motion, and the will have negative helicity. |
At this time its angular momentum vector points in the z-direction,its direction of motion, and the wave will have positive helicity. |
