Osmosis is the process of movement of solvent particles from the solution having low osmotic pressure (if the solution is of same solute then from low concentration solution) to solution having high osmotic pressure (say to solution having high concentration if solute is same) or say, from pure solvent to solution through semipermiable membrane like skin of our body.
dialysis is the process of separating mixture of liquid. Actually in this process solute particles move from higher concentration to low concentration through a membrane but not solvent particle like in osmosis.Dialysis is supposed to be a medical process.
By the bay, in both case smaller particles pass through the membrane but the differance is in osmosis only solvent particles which is smaller in size pass while in case of dialysis selectively smaller solute particles pass through membrane. remember kidney dialysis..
