# Explore (research) science and technology related to food. What are some new creations that will be common in 20-50 years?
Direction:
Research Have you ever needed to discover new ideas or back up your own ideas? Research is the art of curating content. The key to research is gathering and choosing the right resources. Here are some easy to follow steps to conducting research
1. Determine what type of information you need.
2. Conduct a basic first search in the library database or
online using keywords. • If you are finding too much information,
use more specific terms or add additional terms (include "and"
in-between). • If you are finding too little information broaden
your search term ( try using a thesaurus to find similar terms to
use in your search).
3. Next, look at the quality of the information. Who wrote the
article or resource? Does the resource have references? Are the
references credible? Do the references lead to more
information?
4. Gather quick facts from each resource (include the citation so you can easily find it later).
5. Dig deeper. Often resources have references, and these references lead you to more resources. It's like going on a wild goose hunt. Follows far as is helpful. Turn back if it's unhelpful.
Here are some new creations that could be common in the coming years -
(1) 3 in 1 toaster oven, coffee maker, and griddle - In this fast-paced world time will be very important. This creation can be popular in the future as it saves time, space and energy.
(2) 3D printing -We might have a 3D printed cheeseburger in the future! Yes, 3D printing technology is rapidly changing the world and it may be common in the food sector in the next 20-50 years.
(3) Barcode microwave cooking - This is a good example of food inventions that can be common in the coming years as it lets you scan your package's barcode and automatically cook for a perfect time.
(4) Compact food rations similar to NASA’s famous astronaut packets(nutritionally fortified energy bars, biscuits or dehydrated snacks) may be popular in the future to help feed the growing population in developing countries.
(5) Robotic kitchen- UK-based Moley Robotics has developed a ‘robotic kitchen’ and this robot can chop, whisk, stir, pour and clean. It is the future of food technology.
