The emergence of globalization and information has led to a change in various social and cultural setups of the society. One of the aspects that has increased significantly is the use of the information systems for social media. There are various platforms through the internet technologies through which people have online engagements and interactions with other people across the globe. The use of social media is also attributed to various influences in the society. The structural and operational nature of the social media has made it lead to numerous negative influences on the people that use it. Social media has led to an increase in the use of drugs, alcohol, and an increase in mental health complications and the challenges can be solved by reducing the dependence of social media and advocating against excessive use.

People need to reduce their dependence on social media. This makes them unproductive in the workplace and academics. Students and workers are being unfocused at school or at work because they mined in another place .That is way people need to reduce the dependence on social media, because it have create problems for us that in need for a solution. The significant reduction in the levels of activity due to massive use of social media eposes to people to health challenges that include obesity. Therefore, spending a lot of time in the social media can make affect the victims because it reduces the quality of their social, economic and cultural life. People should learn to use the social media in productive manners or reduce its use altogether. Also, people should know when they need to stop using social media. The urge to use the social media emanates for idleness. People need to look for another way of keeping them busy in order to eliminate the urge. Then we will be able to reduce the dependence of using social media.
In conclusion, excessive use of social media is both addictive and dangerous. It influences people to change their behavior and may lead to drug and substance abuse. Social media addiction may also result in mental health problems. The issue can be solved by reducing dependence on social media. The dependence can be reduced through formulating strategies that can assist an individual overcome the temptation of using social media. People who have complications as a result of excessive media must alleviate the damage through acquiring specialist attention.
