your percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H20is dependent on the quality of your laboratory technique. give three examples of errors in technique that would lower the percent yeild of the sythesis briefly explain how each error would lower the percent yeild

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer – We are given that percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H2O is dependent on the quality of your laboratory technique. This percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H2O would be affect by some errors like as follow –

1)Impure the starting material – If the starting material has some impurity then it is directly affected on the percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H2O. There will be formed the other products with the major product and showing the low percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H2O.

For the eliminating this error we need to use the pure starting material or reactant and solvents.

2)The incomplete reaction- If there were not follow certain condition or procedure to carry out the reaction then also affect the percent yield of Cu(NH3)4SO4*H2O. The procedure like if there is need for the well stirring, heating or cooling process not completed properly then it is directly affected on the percent yield.

To remove this error, we need to work on the given procedure very accurately.

3) There is another error occurred during the collecting the formed products form like beaker or form filter paper and we will get the less product and that also directly affected on the percent yield.

So prevent the lower percent yield we need to collect the product carefully and avoid the loss of product.
