1. Identify three factors that contribute to the segregation. Identify at least one factor that is internal to religion (or religious organizations). 2. Identify three consequences for society of racial-religious segregation. 3. Identify one feasible initiative/solution that could be potentially overcome this segregation?
Although religious segregation is very much illegal in United States. Still like every other country (on different aspects ) it exists and is indeed very dreadful.
Trends in segregation are attributed to suburbanization, discrimination, and personal preferences.
Among this discrimination on the basis of religion is what we see the most in America
In various social experiment, it has been found that Americans do not like Islam religion and current President has also tightened immigration policies, specially for Muslims.
But currently what is going is racial-religous segregation, which has lead to recent "Black lives matter" movement. This happened because there were more hatred, violence and killing of black people in America. Black people are twice as likely to be killed by a police officer while unarmed, compared to a white individual. According to a 2015 study, African Americans died at the hands of police at a rate of 7.2 per million, while whites were killed at a rate of 2.9 per million.
We must agree on the fact that we have all come in this planet and we will all die one day. Hatred, violence does not bring anything. It's a vicious cycle that gets passed from one generation to another. To prevent it, what we can do is to educate the current pupil and make them realise that we can live peacefully and happily together. There is no need to discriminate, we are all same with flesh and blood. What i believe if we can influx this goodness into the cycle of hatred, it can result in peace and understanding for later generations.
