B)The resources available in my community to help this particular group are,
1.Primary Health Centres(PHC)
The establishment of PHC in community blocks to provide integrated health care to the people living in rural areas.One of the main functions of the Primary Health Centre is to provide "maternal and child health care services".Each PHC is covered a population of about 66,000 in some 100 villages.Attached to the PHC,there were 3 subcentres.Three auxillary midwives(ANMs) were posted at 3 subcentres.Each subcentre covering population of 20,000.
2.The Multipurpose Workers Scheme
This scheme launched in 1974 is another landmark in the field of maternal care.Under MPW scheme,a team of one male and one female is posted at each subcentre which covers a population of 5000 in general and 3000 in tribal areas.
3.ICDS Programme
Under ICDS Scheme,MCH workis also undertaken.There is an anganwadi worker for 1000 population.The services rendered comprise
.health check-up ,immunization,supplementary nutrition,health education and referal services
4.Local Dais and Health Guides Programme
Under the Rural Health Scheme launched in 1977,an extensive programme for the training of local dais in conductingsafe deliveries,and of village health guides in providing primary health care has been undertaken.
5.National Health Policy
The National Health Policy approved by the Indian Parliament in 1983 hasalso attached great importance to the MCH Programme.MCH and familyplanning services are integrated.The above developments have led to a progressive expansionof MCH services which have been integrated with family welfare services,immunization services,treatment of anemia among mothers and children and administration of vitamin A to children.

Antenatal care
This is the care given during pregnancy.The aims of antenatal care are,to promote and maintain thehealth and nutritional status of the mother during pregnancy,to detect high risk pregnancies and give them sprcial attention,to ensurethat the mother receives the best available care during pregnancy.to prepare the mother physically mentally and mterially for the delivery,to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity,to ensuresafe delivery,to teach mother how tolook after her baby.
History taking-includes general health history,family history,enviornmental and social history,past obstetric history and history of present pregnancy.The each details of the pregnant women is recored in Antenatal card.
Antenatal clinics-Antenatal careis given by the antenatal clinics.Their main functions are registration of antenatal cases,preperation of antenatal cards,antenatal examination,identification of high risk cases,prenatal advice,mental preperation,home visits and maintenance of records.
C)The servicesprovidedto the pregnant women are very good and cheap.But the lack of knowledge about these services among rural people make problems to an extent.
