   Given

   Mass of the tiny ball m = 0.012kg

   charge q = -18*10-6C

   Acceleration due to gravity g = 9.8m/s2

   We have the formula for the force is

           F = qE

but F = mg

       mg = qE

The magnitude of the electric field is given by

           E = (mg)/q

           = (0.012 kg)( 9.8 m/s2)/(18*10-6C)

Simplifying we get the answer.
