Compare and contrast the methods of collecting structured and unstructured data. List one disadvantage of each type of data.

1. it is consists of very well organised information like patient demographic details age, sex, location, date of admission , date of discharge and no. of days staying etc. 2. these data having different data model, format and structure. ex-database 3. it can be spread over the excel sheet. 4. method of collecting structured data are observation method, structured interview, questionnaire, schedules, mechanical device, projective technique, statistical analysis and surveys etc. 5. structured observation means characterised by careful definition of the units to be observed, recording information and selection of pertinent data for ovservation. 6.in interview method asking for certain numbers, type , rate rhythm are structured data. 7. in questionnaire method open ended question like what do you think? is a structured datd. 8. it aims to provide measurable and quantifiable data which is reliable and valid. 9. measurement and measurement scale method can be used in structured data like nominal, ordinal interval,ratio etc. 10. if we are following case study method then it will be difficult to identify structured data. |
1. it is type of largely streamkng data shared by social media, from anuy case study etc. 2. data that has no structure and is usually stored in different files i.e. text doc, PDF, images, videos etc. 3. but it cant be spread over excel sheet. 4. methods of collecting un-structurd data are case study method, reference of text books, analysis of news paper, following social media unstructurd interview etc. 5. when there no characteristics like structured data it is called unstructured observation. 6. indepth interview asking for your opinion, your suggestion, explain yoy satisfaction, expain what happen etc are unstructured data. 7. in questionnaire method close ended question like are you feeling pain yes/no. is a unstructured data. 8. its usually describing events or behaviour. 9. but these measurement and measurement scale cant be used ib unstructured data. 10. but it will be easy to find out unstructured data from case study method. |
