Discuss the need for alternative techniques of data analysis between structured and unstructured data
Structured data are those data which are obtained in an organised format. The statistical techniques can easily be done on this type of data.
Mean is the best measure of central tenadency applied on this data .
Stanadard deviation is the best measure of dispersion applied on this data.
Correlation and Regression can be applied as a part of inferential statistics.
Testing of hypothesis can easily be done. Tests like z, t, F, Chsquare can be easily applied on this data.
Unstructured data are those data which are not obtained in organised form but is obtained in unorganised form and is not formatted. Unstructured data is also known as qualitative data. The techniques which are appled are as follows:
Content analysis is an important technique. It generally anlyses the responses of an interviewee.
Narrative analysis is used to analyse the experience and the story the respondent shares during the interaction.
Discourse analysis is used to analyse the interactions with the respondents.
Grounded theory helps to explain certain incident which has happened. The cases are observed under different settings to come to some causal explanations.
