Do you generally agree or disagree with Colin Woodard's theory regarding political culture in America?
Colin Woodward has put forward the theory that cultures are the basis of dividng the USA as country into different geographical regions. It is based on the premise that people always belong to specific culture and it becomes a source of distinct identity. But, it is not applied upon the political culture in America, as people elect those who can work for their welfare, create jobs for them and bring prosperity and development in the economy. It is the reason that even if USA has more influential white Americans, but they opted for Barak Obama as president. It was Democrats who were dominant in Texas state in the past, but now it is Republicans who have a stronghold now, in the state of Texas. So, it is not the culture that is ddeciding the political culture of different regions in the USA, rather it is the approach, plan and work for the common goals of the USA as a whole that defines the political culture. So, it can be said that I don't agree with what Colin Woodward suggested about the political culture in the USA.
It is also demostrated in the recent COVID-19 pandemic, where diffeernt states collaborated and worked together, irrespective of their cultural preferences.
