But now the patient can monitor and keep track of his heathcare through various digital gadget available in the market. These gadgets not only help in tracking vitals such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, pulse, respiratory rate but also help in monitoring the sleep wake cycle, walking steps, weight. Gadgets such as glucometer and blood pressure monitor machines has helped people to keep check on their blood pressure and blood glucose levels and avoiding frequent visita to clinics.
Technology has also helped people in gaining knowledge about various healthcare issues and preventive measures. Patients can now gain awareness about health promoting behaviours, healthy diets and therapeutic exercises through television or internet.
We can conclude that the patient has considerably gotten control over his healthcare and not only depends on healthcare professionals anymore.
