Correct option is (d)
Most of the water in this reaction is produced in electron transport chain. High energy electrons are donated to the electron transport chain either by NADH or FADH2 .Electron gradually loses energy when it passes to electron transport chain .Low-energy electrons reduce oxygen molecules and form most of water produced in the above reaction.
In glycolysis two molecules of water are produced for each glucose molecule at the step when 2-phosphoglycerate is converted in phosphoenol pyruvate. In kreb cycle there is input of two water molecules at the step when Acetyl-CoA enters the Kreb Cycle and is joined to oxaloacetate by citrate synthase to produce citrate and at the step Fumerate is converted to malate by hydration with the use of fumerase.Product of fermentation are ethanol, lactic acid, carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas. No water molecule is byproduct in this process.
So in reaction C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6O2 → 6 CO2 + 6H2O
Most of water are produced by electron transport chain.
