"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. In all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight"(Proverbs 3:5-6 ,NIV)
The scripture here is advising the best for a child of God, to trust him,the Abba Father. We as a child of God should always trust our Father the creator because trusting him is the basic foundation of the communion with him,the relationship is built on this dependability. It's not only in difficult times but at all times, acknowledging him that he is there for us, to care for us , to lead us,to love us,to nourish us to help us grow. Our understanding is a limited understanding that allows us to see just one side of a multifaceted conditions or the concepts. But the vision of the Abba Father is beyond our understanding and hence, Solomon is advising us not to lean on our own biased understanding that is based on our perception of our feelings and emotions.A trust without submission is not complete,a submission with a whole heart to the loving Father makes the relationship more stronger ,it helps us to see our faults and helps to accept them and give them up in love, thus the crooked ways of human heart become straighter. When a man wills to rely or depend, have fellowship and intimacy with God in all his life,he gets the better understanding of God's will for him and such devotion will bring the Abba Father's kingdom on earth.
Wherever we are ,in whatever condition or in whatever job we do ,true devotion is when we acknowledge, trust and rely on him in love. The strong bond thus created will always help to have a better understanding of this world and the will of God in our life.
