The global load of neuropsychiatry diseases& related mental health conditions are part of a major heath issue in developing nations as well as their management by the healthcare team.
As per statistics one in every five person is suffering from whether a very light or critical type of Mental health issues. As we cannot afford to be anxious in our efforts to achieve changes to our mental health care system but we can consider the impact of mental health on our community.
Although healthcare industry and the regulating agencies had worked on the present issue of mental health as inclusion in Millennium Development Goals including education, labour force participation, and productivity.
But the impacts of such policies are negligible on ground.
Untreated mental conditions contribute to economic loss as it increases school &work absenteeism and failure rates, healthcare expenditure, and unemployment.
The problem is that this is not limited to elderly person now a day it is more common in the children and adults.
And the big problem is that no one easily want to discuss on his/her problems in a positive manner.
People get ashamed that they are suffering from any mental disorder.
And hence most of the cases are neither reported nor shared to the healthcare industry.
That’s why there is need to spread a public awakening regarding this very serious existing issue, so that being a healthcare professional we can achieve the positive goals in such serious cases.
It is very true that only a mental health professional can say if someone has a mental illness or not, just because someone has a bad day does not mean he or she have a mental illness.
Hence it should be also accessed.
Furthermore by addressing unmet mental health needs will require development of better mental health infrastructure &workforce and overall integration of mental and physical health services with primary care, especially in the developing nations.
