What do you think will happen to the Philippines 50 years from now. Organize your arguments clearly.
In the next 50 years (2070), the Philippines is expected to become a highly industrialised nation as its economy is projected to continue to expand by at least 6 percent per year. If so, in 2070, the PH will have a GDP of $7.423 trillion. In 2070 the population of the Philippines is projected to rise to nearly 160 million inhabitants, and if the Philippines had a GDP of $7,423 trillion, the per capita GDP would be $46,395, which by today's standards would qualify it as a highly advanced country. And Filipinos will probably experience a very high standard of life (according to the HDI) with this advanced economy.
Of course, this scenario for 2070 can only be valid if the Philippines undertakes substantial changes to improve the efficiency of government and reduce corruption in our infamously poor system of governance. The existing system of patronage and family loyalties must be abolished by Filipinos and a system of meritocracy introduced, similar to that in Singapore, instead.
There is also a clear need for economic reforms, such as continued spending on infrastructure to promote transportation, to ease the process of starting up enterprises and to enable people to start their own projects in all fields, to reduce investment barriers (especially overseas), to strengthen and prioritise our manufacturing, innovative and technology sectors, to make our agricultural sector more mobile
Cultural change, maybe even revolution among us Filipinos, is also required, such as the removal of our laid-back approach to life, the restriction of the power of Catholicism and Islam on our approach to modern thought, more willingness to take risks to better our chances rather than being afraid to do so, value secular education, value intellectualism, willingness to support those who are willing
But if, and only if, during this time , the Philippines is able to pull off those social and administrative improvements and sustain its economic success by means of economic reform and restructuring, then we can be sure that the Philippines will be an advanced nation in 2070
