You are at a company where you would like to get hired. How would you engage in authentic self-presentation or strategic self-presentation in this context (explain both types of self presentation)
Authentic self presentation:
Authentic self presentation is something that is genuine and would be accepted as being a fact. Here the interviewee could give examples of the fact that I could become a very good team member as I have the ability to mingle into people and be communicative. The fact that I have arranged many meetings and smaller occasions such as farewell parties and all the other smaller events, suggests that I could work together with people and bring about successful outcomes. I like to give creative ideas as some of the (name two games) at the parties are solely out of my creativity. Hence, you should hire me as I would become an assist and not a liability.
Strategic self presentation
In strAtegic self presentation, there is tactical ideas employed by the interviewee that would convince the interviewer about good impressions of the person. This, in other words, are also known as impression management, where the person would try to create a self image that would be according to his desire.
This can be done by using strategies such as modesty, or conveying of any positive information about myself by self promotion or through ingratiation.
